Once Upon a Time at the Oscars is the weekly podcast where we take on the gauntlet of watching every single film that was nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards! Starting with the films of 1927, Kyle and Marilee break down these movies every week. Each episode is part review, part trivia, and part critique. This podcast is intended for anybody that loves movies. We have zero background in the film industry, we’re just a film-loving couple that thought it’d be fun to go on this odyssey together, with all of you!
MEET YOUR HOSTS
Kyle
Kyle grew up with a collection of VHS tapes, a Super Nintendo and weekends at Blockbuster or the local theater. He's a fan of all things movies, from super hero blockbusters, to David Lynch art films. When he's not sitting in front of the silver screen he spends his time reading comics, playing video games, and surfing. He's known to love a good tragic story, and he always roots for the underdog. Some of his favorite Oscar nominated films are Rocky, Black Swan, and Moulin Rouge.
Marilee
Marilee is a theme park junky, Halloween ghoul, and of course...movie obsessor. No offense to her parents but she was practically raised by movies. They taught her that love is all around us, everyone's entitled to one good scare, that a laugh is a very powerful thing, and that there's some good left in this world and it's worth fighting for. A few of her favorite Oscar nominated films are Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, La La Land, and The Exorcist.
